This is all so meaningless—he just rambles away, the argument that the President should just get to put in place anyone they want when the measure of their fitness for office, speaking not just of the cabinet but down the line, is their loyalty to the President, is in fact unprecedented. This is why objections were leveled against those appointees—did John ever vote against a Democratic President's cabinet nominee? Why yes, yes he did—so to imply that the Senate’s role is just to approve cabinet level appointments and democratic opposition to those appointments is somehow unprecedented is just so much bullshit. We have the most incompetent and corrupt cabinet level appointments in history. We have a cabinet appointee on tape taking a $50,000 dollar bribe, but that’s no problem for John. Nothing wrong with that. We have a man with zero background in science or medicine heading HHS. We have a man with zero experience in Law Enforcement heading the FBI. A Fox news announcer who paid women off to keep them quiet about his sexual assaults who is so notorious for his drinking that he had to promise if he was appointed he wouldn’t drink and within months he put our troops in danger by sharing highly classified military information via a chat app. Yeah, it’s all the those crazy Democrats that are the problem. And now, of course, we’re at war. Guess that’s okay too. Thune is a Russian asset and traitor to this country—why else would he celebrate the 4th of July in Russia? Supposedly to “talk” to them about not interfering in our elections? Right. Makes sense.
