Typical State response...deny, deny and lie. Remember when Marty Jackley had a town hall on the Westerhuis massacre? I think It was on Nov 6th of that year...It has been destroyed now and no one can retrieve it from KELO anymore. But Jackley said that the reason that the Westerhuis house surveillance video was missing was because it automatically just went away after 5 days. We all whispered BS under our breath so to prove his point he said the same thing happened in Redfield in a prior case he had...since both were "state phones". Well if he KNEW he only had 5 days to view the video why did he wait over 5 days to retrieve it. He also could not logically explain how the vapor smelling dogs got there in less than an hour when they were a 3 hours' drive away...I think they came up with they were duck hunting with them at a closer location (really? duck hunting with dogs that cost THOUSANDS of dollars in accelerant training?)
AND the clean up crew picked up Scott Westerhuis a mile away from the house near his truck (when Jackley said he died in the dinning room...then he said the children died in a fire so fierce that the bed they were in burnt through the floor, yet the clean up people said the children barely had the smell of smoke on them...not burned at all).
Like I said...typical state lies and typical SD nice that won't say BS out loud.
What a mess.

This is a sad comedy where the state's assistant attorney general is the fall guy...
