South Dakota begins rollout of $189 million rural health care initiative
Firms selected to help guide process that seeks to bolster workforce, technology in rural communities
South Dakota has selected three consultant organizations and awarded an additional project management contract to support implementation of several initiatives tied to the state’s Rural Health Transformation program, officials announced Thursday.
Gov. Larry Rhoden said the initiative is intended to strengthen rural health care systems across the state.
“I am committed to keeping South Dakota strong, safe, and free, and supporting rural health is a key component of that vision,” Rhoden said in a release announcing the awards. “The Rural Health Transformation program is already running full steam ahead, delivering results for South Dakotans. I am grateful for my Department of Health and their hard work throughout the process.”
