Signing ceremony in Sioux Falls strikes firearm silencers as controlled weapon
Silencer Central hosts bill signing in move that supporters say makes South Dakota more Second Amendment friendly

Proclaiming South Dakota the friendliest state in the nation to the Second Amendment, Gov. Larry Rhoden Tuesday signed legislation that removes firearm suppressers from a list of controlled weapons under state law.
The signing of Senate Bill 2 occurred at the Sioux Falls offices of Silencer Central, an industry leader in suppressors.
“We’re proud of what we do here,” Silencer Central Brandon Maddox told a group that gathered for the signing. Maddox praised the state’s hunting DNA for contributing to his company’s success.
