PIERRE — South Dakota voters could see the topic of Medicaid expansion on their ballots again in 2024.

When they adopted Constitutional Amendment D in November and added an estimated 42,000 able-bodied adults to the federal health insurance program, they also approved language that prohibits the state from adding work requirements to Medicaid eligibilities.

But a proposed ballot measure aims to repeal that provision of South Dakota’s Medicaid program.
