Senate confirms Trump nominee to be top South Dakota prosecutor
Ron Parsons returns to office he held during Donald Trump's first administration
The U.S. Senate confirmed President Trump’s nominee to be the top federal prosecutor in South Dakota Tuesday night in a vote that highlighted the partisan divide in Washington, D.C.
Sioux Falls lawyer Ron Parsons will resume the post of U.S. attorney for the District of South Dakota. It’s the same position he held during the first Trump administration.
“Ron Parsons will be an aggressive opponent of crime in South Dakota,” Senate Majority Leader John Thune said in a statement to The Dakota Scout. “He brings a stellar record of legal service and expertise to the post of U.S. attorney. Ron’s confirmation is a great win for law and order in this country.”
