Subscribers of The Dakota Scout scramble to reserve seats for April 27 event that will feature Republicans Toby Doeden, House Speaker Jon Hansen, Congressman Dusty Johnson & Gov. Larry Rhoden
Watch for any concern for hungry children and our homeless population; water quality, Native Americans and awareness and plans that deal with dependencies, esp. as they relate to incarcerations and recidivism.
Following Orban’s crushing defeat and Trump’s rant about the Pope being weak on crime (? !), apparently all the Republican candidates for South Dakota’s governor and congressional races have requested that Trump and Vance not campaign for them before the primaries.
Question for the panel. Since January, Trump’s economic approval rating among Republicans dropped 14 points. Among GOPers under 45, he’s down 23 points. And 13% of Trump voters say they regret how they voted." Do you have any regrets, illegal tariffs, US citizens denied due process, killed in the street, war and its impact on cost of living? Anything?
Like many, I’ll be watching—hoping that Ellis will ask some good questions and hold candidates accountable for answering them. I’m not asking for fact checks necessarily, but when candidates don’t answer the question it’s pretty easy to say, “you didn’t answer the question.” If we get the same tired response about how the OBBB is really a massive tax cut for working Americans I want that bullshit called out. Notice how they’ve quit saying no tax on SS, because it’s not true. Same is true for every other “massive” tax cut—all expire, all are a bunch of smoke and mirrors for taxes on overtime and tips, all temporary while the cuts for billionaires and multi-millionaires are permanent and the illegal tariffs (that near as I can tell he’s still doing while big corps sue to get their money back while we keep paying) and illegal wars and illegal detention of US citizens without due process continue unabated. Don’t let them distract with culture war bullshit no one cares about—talk about voter suppression efforts like “solving” the illegals are voting by making it more difficult to vote by demanding citizenship requirements that are expensive and unnecessary, especially for women. How many laws will they propose for stopping something that has never happened from never happening? So 273 non-citizens were registered to vote in SD over the past decade. One voted and the problem was a mistake on the part of state employees—not that they were illegals trying to vote, they said on the form they weren’t citizens. The citizenship requirement is just so much bullshit. Talk about the cost of living and gas and especially health insurance and how the president just said, we can’t afford those things, but sure, a billion dollars a day for an illegal war is just fine. I mention all that because it matters to South Dakotans and while the Governor of SD cannot change much of that, every single one of these candidates supports all of those policies at the state and national level. The question should be what are you going to do differently since it’s Republican policies that got us here.
So nearly 300 will witness the event in person. For certain I'll be watching on local tv. Now I wanna know how many folks attended the recent GOP Lincoln Day dinner to hear former Congressman Madison Cawthorn. Did he fill the banquet hall? Was there enough food?
Move it to a bigger venue

Awesome. Thanks for the opportunity.
Looking forward to it! Thanks Joe!
