Selberg drops out of 2026 Sioux Falls mayoral contest
Former councilor puts support behind competitor in race to succeed term-limited Paul TenHaken
The field in the 2026 race for Sioux Falls mayor has narrowed.
Marshall Selberg told The Dakota Scout Monday he is suspending his mayoral campaign he launched last fall and putting his support behind another City Hall hopeful.
“As I’ve reflected in recent days, it’s become clear that when people who care deeply about the same future for our city compete in ways that divide, no one truly wins,” the 58-year-old Republican said. “I love this city and want what is best for Sioux Falls and for all of us who call it home. That conviction ultimately led me to this decision. This is not easy.”
