South Dakota’s top election official who campaigned on voter integrity will hold her first promised election-audit meeting behind closed doors.

The South Dakota Secretary of State’s Office is gearing up for its own summer study on election integrity with county auditors, public officials and activists — a response to a series of legislation and calls for a probe of the state’s election protocols following the 2020 presidential election.

But the first time the group convenes will be in secret.
