From the department of bursting bubbles comes a new study that finds a small but significant number of parents think their child will play Division I sports, go pro and even qualify for the Olympics. Que laughter here.

The Aspen Institute, a nonprofit that encourages children’s sport participation and research into injury prevention, found that two in 10 parents think their children have a chance to play Division I and one in 10 think their child could become a professional athlete of an Olympian. The Aspen Institute’s survey of parents done in partnership with Utah State University and Louisiana Tech University found that a majority of parents think high school sports is the highest level their child will reach, but “there remains a faction who believe their children will beat the long odds and play sports at the highest levels.”
