When Robert Halford sits you down for a nice fireside chat, you know he must have something great to say.

With much the same candor of a kindly grandfather taking time to pass some wisdom on to his future generations, Halford – fully clad in black studded leather – takes a seat on the speaker stage left.

He looks relaxed and cheerful with his bushy white beard and leather trench coat.

“I’ve been walking God’s Earth for 73 years,” Halford said. “I’ve been doing this for 50 of them.”

Halford reminisces about the first Judas Priest record, Rocka Rolla, the groundbreaking debut album from 1974.

“That’s where metal began, or some people say it anyway.”
