Regents turn to Northern State to address South Dakota's pending nursing shortage
New program helps Hub City, medical industry absorb closure of Presentation College
The South Dakota Board of Regents’ plan to tackle the state’s looming nursing shortage will include a new undergraduate nursing program at Northern State University.
It’ll also help the Hub City and the state’s medical industry absorb the closure of Presentation College.
“Our major goal is to address critical nursing needs,” Northern State President Neal Schnoor said this week during a presentation to the Regents, which convened for a two-day hearing on the campus of Dakota State University in Madison.
