What a bunch of BS. Does anyone remember that when KN first ran for governor, one of the "pillars" she claimed would be emblematic of her service would be transparency? And "security risk"? You've got to be kidding me

Thank you, David Bordewyk, for appealing for more transparency. This is a no brainer.

Total 🐂 💩. Catch-22 wasn’t this contrived.

She's spending our money. We have a right to know how she's spending it.

Why does an elected official have a carte blanche credit card in the first place?

“It is inaccurate that those expenditures are for the governor’s credit card as the state auditor’s response letter describes,” Fury said. “Those expenditures are from many employees and are legitimate state expenditures related to the official duties of the Governor’s Office, all of which have been reviewed and verified to be legitimate by the state auditor.”

Fury is Noem's official spokesperson so it is her saying this. And we are supposed to just take the word of the person who made false claims to the public in her own book? If that comment isn't the fox guarding the chicken coop I don't know what is.

So Ian is saying all these employees are basically using credit cards issued under Kristi Noem’s name, or is it office? If it’s office, then let’s see the breakdown. We just caught you lying, Ian. Either you’re lying or Sattgast is lying. But I think it’s you, Ian Fury. Which means it’s the Governor.

So produce the records. Why is that so hard for you and Noem to do? What are you and she afraid of? The truth?

What could you purchase with a credit card that would put your safety at risk? Dental work? An abortion? I'm being facetious, but only because I can't imagine an appropriate purchase with taxpayer money that would endanger the safety of a former governor or the current one. I admit, perhaps I lack the imagination to understand how government works in SD, but for someone who prides herself on transparency, concealing the use of public funds from the the public, gives the appearance of impropriety--something that seems to dog the republican party these days.

'Protection from Government Secrecy" was the fourth of her "Four Pillars" campaign. Her kids even did a video of that plan so she was lying to them as well?

Of course now that she's in office, what difference does it make?

As for her press secretary, same category as Baghdad Bob and Biden's little press munchkin.

No transparency; more corruption. Why don’t taxpayers have a right to know? We must really get to know those running for office and vote for the person who will truly strive to represent us and quit voting for someone because of the R or D by their name.

Why don't our legislators change the law to allow for more open records? Its OUR tax money - why is she able to use it to fly to an event to promote herself. How much money has she used to campaign for VP position?

She is covering something. Supporting her book is her expense. Who else is she supporting?

Wow a virulent strain of NDS, Noem Derangement Syndrome has struck Dakota Democrat.

Every State and Federal employee that is required to travel for work is issued a government credit card. Which pays for travel, hotel, meals, and miscellaneous expenses.

And guess what, after close to 40 of Federal service, I was never required to be "transparent" with idiot Democrats.

Shocking, I know, but too bad.

Noem has been fiscally responsible with the entire state budget and having to respond to such crybabies is beneath her.

"Every State and Federal employee that is required to travel for work is issued a government credit card."

Not true at all. State employees are expected to use their personal accounts for expenses and request reimbursement after the fact. Air travel is generally paid by the state directly to a travel agency. If a hotel is willing, a direct bill can be set-up. With few exceptions for those at the top, state employees are not walking around with government credit cards.
