McCook County mom dodges prison after bilking $30K from taxpayers
Social Security Administration’s Office of Inspector General determined recipient concealed household income in order to collect benefits after investigating welfare fraud case
An eastern South Dakota woman who admitted to defrauding federal and state benefit programs out of more than $30,000 has been sentenced to probation and ordered to repay the money.
Monica Tracie Solesby, 42, of Salem, pleaded guilty in June to one count of grand theft involving more than $5,000, and this week was given a 10 year prison sentence by a McCook County judge. The entire term suspended on the condition she serve 10 years of supervised probation.
