Amid mounting financial pressures and uncertainty over future funding, Mayor Paul TenHaken wants Sioux Falls city councilors to greenlight a $775 million budget and 28 new full-time positions for 2026.
The mayor on Thursday delivered his final budget address at Carnegie Town Hall in downtown Sioux Falls, calling for a cadre of new public safety positions, funding for a new fire station and more than $120 million for the construction and maintenance of highways and streets.
