A California man who scammed a Chamberlain resident out of $472,000 has been sentenced to 12 years in prison, Attorney General Marty Jackley announced Wednesday.
Chee Yeng Wong, 36, pled guilty to one count of aiding, abetting, or advising grand theft in a Brule County courtroom Tuesday. Following his guilty plea, a judge sentenced Wong to 12 years, ordering him to pay restitution of $472,000 and fining him $1,000.
