Because I was not an immigrant

Then they came for the people of mexican color

And I did not speak out

Because I was white

Then they came for all non whites

And I did not speak out

Because I was white

And then they came for me

Well said Clara. The silence is deafening. This transcends party allegiance. At least it should.

For the love of Pete. No one is PAID. If that is the case I would be able to pay some needed bills. StOP with the politics already. People were killed and NOT because they were doing things that weren't well within their right. We NEED to get humanity back ASAP. Quit the blame game.

Ken Delfino's avatar

There have been onsite interviews where some agitators have stated they were being paid to protest. Online Facebook posts show this as well.

ILLEGAL immigration is a political issue and will take time to clean up after Mayorkas allowed those illegals into our country and so far, has gotten away with lying to Congress about it.

The immigration process doesn't need to be changed...the current laws just need to be enforced

Stuart J. Cvrk's avatar

For the love of Pete, wake up! Stop living in a CNN/MSNBS cocoon. There are tons of videos out there where protestors themselves admit they're being paid. Here's just one: https://t.me/SGTnewsNetwork/123925

SGT News Network....... Never heard of this outfit!!!

Stuart J. Cvrk's avatar

You need to get out more.

Kevin K's avatar

OK.... so I searched Google and came up with their take on your "news" source:

Content and Focus: It presents itself as an alternative to mainstream media ("mockingbird media") and features original interviews, often focusing on conspiracy theories, anti-establishment views, etc.

Stuart J. Cvrk's avatar

LoL. That's the same kind of assessment that the WaPo might give. Did you watch the video, or do you think it's AI-generated?

And since you use Google, why not do a diligent search for more videos on the same subject. I'll get you started: https://theamericantribune.com/watch-california-mayor-reveals-anti-ice-protesters-are-being-paid-by-george-soros-and-others-to-fly-around-america-cause-chaos/

Jesus man, stop with the right-wing conspiracy news sources. They’re rotting your brain.

The violence of well-organized mobs and politicians interfering with lawful immigration enforcement has been met with and unsettling silence from people who are mad they didn't win the last presidential election.

The riotous chaos in Minneapolis is a direct result of sanctuary state hubris, with Democrat officials promoting aggressive mob interference with lawful ICE operations. It would appear that Minnesota ramped up its resistance to deflect from its mind-boggling money-siphoning and laundering fraud enterprise.

I am sorry that a woman who was harassing ICE officers doing their duty used her car as a weapon to hit one of those ICE officers - and sadly lost her life as a result. I am sorry that a man who made a career of harassing and interfering with ICE officers decided to leave his ID and carry permit home when he jumped into the midst of an ICE operation while armed - thus losing his life as a result. Had he stood on the sidewalk and protested without jumping into that operation, he would be alive and unharmed.

The restraint of the ICE officers in the face of the mobs is amazing. They should be commended.

Texas and Florida, which had the greatest number of ICE detentions during the first half of 2025, did NOT have the heinous mobs encouraged in Minneapolis and Los Angeles et al. Because TX & FL allowed ICE to collect the worst of the worst from prisons because their detainers were honored.

Wow - you got me! Ha ha ha ha ha!

Stuart J. Cvrk's avatar

Speaking of ignorant, that anti-ICE Signal app didn't just magically appear (it took time and money to develop), and yes, protestors are being paid, which means the protests are well-organized. Even the signs are manufactured, not organic. Refer to https://t.me/SGTnewsNetwork/123925

Totally wrong. If Tampon Timmy, Ellison and that idiotic Mayor would have followed the law, assisted ICE and not make outrageous, false and treasonous statements, all would be well and ICE would probably already be gone with their targets. No other states have had riots, let alone ones by paid agitators. You protect the criminals, I support ICE and all LEOs.

The two who were killed put themselves in that situation. MN is awash in debt. Somalian stole billions, their government is ridiculous.

CausticCounterpoint's avatar

Sorry, you are a pinhead. The decedents did not to put themselves in a position to be shot dead at point blank range by ICE thugs who are out of f-cking control.

Flashtraffic's avatar

I expect the shallow minded maga cultists to advance the standard tangental nonsense

The US constitution was written as it is for a reason .

The personal experience of those who wrote it .

Bottom line is this :

Folks have the right to assemble and protest

Government authority is held to a high standard to conduct themselves within the spirit and written requirement of the IS constitution

It is one’s right to carry a weapon legally unless the law specifically prohibits it. Carrying at a protest is legal

The force authorities use is identified buy law, policy and procedure

The use of deadly force is to respond to immediate deadly threat

Law enforcement have a duty to mitigate exposure to avoidable threat

The killing of the 2 in mpls as murder . The use of deadly force was excessive.

Forced entry into residences without probable cause , judicial warrant , immediate threat is unconstitutional

What the cock sucker trump is doing is terrorizing a population for his personal political gain

Trump and his entire horse holding low lifes will pay one day for their assault on our democracy .

I know what the world and I can see in the video evidence. These were cold-blooded executions by hot-blooded goons.

Not a pinhead's avatar

Whatever. 8 USC 1325, 1326. Read it you baffoon.

CausticCounterpoint's avatar

You really should disengage from this debate. You are not up to the task, intellectually. First, neither 8 USC §1325 nor 8 USC §1326—federal statutes criminalizing improper entry and reentry by an alien—is relevant to this discussion. The issue, pinhead, is the unjustified shooting of two American citizens by ICE agents acting far outside the scope of their duties. Thus far, the physical evidence suggests indictments, trials and convictions in Minnesota state court are in order. ICE does not have absolute immunity. And there is no statute of limitations. Second, the word is "buffoon," not "baffoon." To repeat you are not smart enough for this conversation, so save your imbecilic "whatevers" for your fellow MAGA morons.

Flashtraffic's avatar

You are not a pin head. You are an ignorant moronic low life

Not a pinhead's avatar

Its spelled Pinhead you malfeasant moron.

CausticCounterpoint's avatar

How ironic that you, Pinhead, who spelled "buffoon" wrong would become a spelling critic. Furthermore, your punctuation is atrocious. "Its" lacks the requisite apostrophe, and there is no comma to separate the noun of address. Arizona State is a well-known academic joke, but this should have been learned by 3rd or 4th grade. As a proud "patriot," you should take the time to learn your country's language.

Please come down from your spaceship so you can SEE and FEEL what is going on in our country. It's blood, fear, injustice and bigotry. And YOU, Mr. Pinhead, should spend some time brushing up on our laws and Constitution since you want to practice it (with no facts or knowledge of our legal system).

Not a pinhead's avatar

OMG. they are illegal immigrants. You folks are so up in arms protecting murderers, rapists, and people stealing from our country when we have homeless vets and americans living paycheck to paycheck while the illegal immigrants are stealing billions from our country taking away jobs and causing havoc. Read the statutes read the Constitution they are illegal. ICE is merely enforcing the law in getting rid of these illegals.

I'll bet no one here had a problem when obama deported three million people and gave a presidential award to tom homan for his service.

The hypocrisy and ignorance here is astounding.

I bet you think protecting child pedophiles who gained billions from a man who scammed trillions just for more financial gains is a worthy cause.

Every idiot who thinks these ICE protest shootings are justified needs to remember January 6, 2021's storming of the Capitol by Trump's radical detritus. If law enforcement or national guard had started gunning down the seditious rioters, would it not have been justifiable? The danger those criminal assholes presented to this country was far greater than what ICE is dealing with now. Instead of a well-deserved bullet to the brain, those cretins got pardoned.

Good letter Clara. Have Thune, Rounds, or Dusty Johnson said anything about the Minneapolis murders? I haven't seen anything from Little Mike Johnson, but I'm sure it would be something like "I haven't followed that story; I've been too busy."

Carla Williams's avatar

Thank you for your eloquent, thoughtful piece, Clara. I was raised beginning each school day by saying the Pledge of Allegiance, and I distinctly remember that it ended with “liberty and justice for all.” We seem to be losing that important bit of our national humanity, not just for those seeking safe haven, but also for our own citizens.

I wish ms. Good and Mr. Pretty were still alive. How could this have been avoided. I answer. Stop the violent prompts by the Minnesota gov and Minneapolis mayor. Stop obstructing law enforcement. Don’t bring a gun to what you know is going to be a violent physical confrontation. Don’t try to run over a police agent. Mind your own business. Let the police do their jobs. Local law enforcement should be backing up the federal agents, just like what happens in almost every other state. Hope this helps.

A recent president deported 3 million unauthorized occupants without the pro-forma faux theater and terror on our citizens. The felon in chief is making the Bill of Rights a dead letter. Your rights of free speech and assembly are under assault. Your right to bear arms is receiving new limitations and scrutiny. Your right to not have soldiers quartered among you is essentially gone. Your right to be secure in your home absent a judicial warrant is gone. Your right to due process of law is non-existent. Your right to have states rights rule affairs where there is no federal authority is gone - as are the implied rights of states to run elections and for your private ballot. Your right to due process of law is gone.

Reflect on the Indictments in the Declaration of Independence:

"He has kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies without the Consent of our legislatures.

"He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil Power.

"For quartering large bodies of armed troops among us:

"For protecting them, by a mock Trial from punishment for any Murders which they should commit on the Inhabitants of these States:

"For cutting off our Trade with all parts of the world:

"For imposing Taxes [tariffs] on us without our Consent:

"For depriving us in many cases, of the benefit of Trial by Jury:

"For transporting us beyond Seas to be tried for pretended offences:

He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us...

"In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A Prince, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people."

Today these indictments as true to trump as they were to King George III 250 years ago.

I 💯 agree. Where are our legislatures? Why do they not care what is going on? Do they think our state is "safe" with the Operation Prairie Thunder?? Do they not care about the immigrants in SD? Wake up!!

People don't think of the people killed they just want themselves to look the better of everyone else.

Saviour complex, also known as messiah complex or hero syndrome, is when someone feels like they need to rescue or fix others' problems. It's like they're on a mission to save the world

Not exactly a mental illness itself, but it can be a symptom or trait associated with certain conditions like narcissistic personality disorder or anxiety disorders. It's more of a psychological pattern or complex

I am sick and tired of all the virtue-signaling like this letter. None of these people ever talk about the law:

..

1. US immigration laws requiring deportation of all illegal aliens (been the law of the land for years, including during the Obama years!).

..

2. 18 U.S.C. § 111, titled "Assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers or employees." This is what many of the “protestors” have been doing, i.e., breaking the law!

..

3. 18 U.S.C. § 115 (threats or violence against federal officials or their families to impede duties, often via threats). This is the doxing/targeting that the organized protestors have been doing. Again, breaking the law!

..

4. 18 U.S.C. § 372, titled "Conspiracy to impede or injure officer." This applies to every protestor coordinating on Signal or other app, as well as to DFL officials who are aiding and abetting the criminality cited above.

..

In short, the virtue-signalers like this woman are completely silent on the crimes being committed by the well-organized protestors and their DFL-media enablers.

..

Now let’s compare the leftist caterwauling over the deaths of two protestors in Minneapolis to the deaths of DOZENS of Americans at the hands of illegal aliens – you know, the kinds of illegal aliens that the organized professional protestors in Minnesota and their DFL enablers are so concerned about.

..

First of all, I regret all loss of life. The death circumstances between the two killed in the protests are entirely different from the deaths of all the innocents killed by illegal aliens over the last decade or more. Pretti Good chose to be there (Pretti was carrying in direct violation of Minnesota state law that prohibits carrying during protests, and Good tried to run over an ICE officer); they'd still be alive if they didn't make the choices they did.

..

The innocents killed by illegals didn't choose anything other than to live their lives (and would still be alive if Biden/Democrats hadn't let the illegals into the country in violation of pre-existing US immigration laws in the first place). There's a world of difference in circumstances, and those that can't figure that out who are screeching about it all over social media and elsewhere are beyond hope and need serious therapy. Some of them need to be rolled up for inciting violence (refer to 18 U.S.C. § 372).

..

Stated another way: Let's play the Left's numbers game. Two people were killed who chose to be there regardless of the circumstances of their deaths versus many dozens of innocent Americans who were just living their lives but were killed by illegal aliens. That's all that matters to me. I am not interested in throwing the book at anyone for those two deaths regardless of what happened, especially when the violent protestors and particularly the Democrat inciters and funders are walking around free as birds.

..

And I’m certainly not interested in virtue-signalers who apparently are fine with law-breaking and are more concerned about the welfare of their “illegal alien neighbors” than US citizens.

Through intrepidness and ingenuity early mankind survived the first ICE AGE. The American tradition of basic freedoms dates way back to the Magna Carta, and more recently the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution from 250 years ago -- long enough time for a resilient people's determination not cave to authoritarianism...
