LETTER: Abortion ballot question too extreme for South Dakota
You may be approached to sign a petition to put an abortion amendment into our South Dakota Constitution. This extreme amendment legalizes painful, dangerous, late-term abortions, including abortions right up to the moment of birth.
The amendment also cancels the need to notify a parent before their minor child undergoes an abortion. It eliminates basic medical and safety protections for women – it even cancels the requirement that the abortionist be a licensed doctor. Further, it overrides criminal laws that protect a mother from being forced to have an abortion against her will.
The bottom line: This amendment is too extreme and a grave threat to life in our state. Please, if you’re approached by a petition circulator, decline to sign the radical abortion petition. For more information, please visit LifeDefenseFund.com.
