Jackley to seek broader powers to combat child porn
Attorney general will also ask for ban on foreign involvement in elections, consumer DNA protections and government transparency measures
Attorney General Marty Jackley will seek broader powers to target online predators who are disseminating child pornography, following a large increase in the number of potential cases.
The attorney general will also ask lawmakers to approve bills aimed at genetic testing companies, foreign actors in elections and bills aimed at improving government transparency.
Jackley said Monday he will ask lawmakers to approve investigative subpoena authority giving the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force a new tool to identify where child pornography is being distributed in the state.
