PIERRE, S.D. – Former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum on Tuesday took another shot at trying to persuade South Dakota lawmakers to pass a resolution calling for a constitutional convention.
Santorum, who ran for the GOP presidential nomination in 2012 and 2016, serves as a senior adviser to Convention of States, a conservative organization that wants to use one of the processes spelled out in the U.S. Constitution to propose amendments.
That process requires 34 states to call for a convention.
