Revenue department staffer latest in string of public corruption cases
South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley is continuing his aggressive pursuit of criminal charges against current and former state employees accused of stealing from taxpayers or turning a blind eye to wrongdoing within state government.
The latest case involves Danielle Degenstein, 52, of Pierre, a former Department of Revenue employee who pleaded guilty Tuesday in Hughes County Circuit Court to a misdemeanor count of misprision of a felony — the act of failing to report a known felony.
