
MITCHELL – The prospects of finishing the Farm Bill this year could hinge on the outcome of the midterm elections in November, South Dakota’s congressional delegation said Wednesday.
If Democrats win back the House or Senate, they might choose to put off major legislation, including the Farm Bill, until they assume the levers of legislative power next year.
“Once the election is complete, we will know the prospects of getting it done by the end of the year,” Sen. Mike Rounds said.
