Starr Chief Eagle is an enrolled member of the Sicangu (Rosebud) Lakota Sioux Tribe. She was born with the Lakota name Wichahpi Tokahe (First Star) and was later given the Lakota name Wichahpi Ohitika Winyan (Brave Star Woman). She grew up in the Black Hills of South Dakota and started hoop dancing before she could walk. Since then, she has been perfecting her techniques and skills. Starr was raised in hoop dancing by her father Dallas Chief Eagle and continues to carry on his teachings

Since the band’s inception in 1992, they’ve performed shows across the country with bands like Starship, Marshall Tucker, The Kentucky Headhunters, Molly Hatchet and Blackfoot. Whitehot ‘N Blue released two albums throughout their career. After a long break, the band is back together working on a new recording project and planning a national tour.
