Voter Engagement Drive

TiWakan will host a voter engagement event featuring guests that include tribal leadership and city officials. This event is designed to encourage early voting, registration, and community involvement. Taking place on Thursday, it aims to register and mobilize Native voters in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Indian Citizenship Act, which extended voting rights to Native people in the U.S. in 1924. To highlight the significance of the Native vote and its impact across South Dakota, we invite members and the local community to join us for a day of civic engagement.

Spend an afternoon with friends at the Pins for Pits event hosted by Sioux Empire Pit Rescue. All proceeds will support our Community Outreach and Spay and Neuter assistance program, which collaborates with community partners to provide free basic veterinary care for beloved dogs. You can build a team of four, or we will assist you in forming a team upon arrival. Registration includes domestic beer or soda and shoe rental, with cash prizes for the top three teams and various raffle and auction opportunities available throughout the event.
