RADICAL IDEA: Let's elect a governor that focuses ONLY on SD issues.

None of these trips seem to have anything to do with helping the average SD taxpayer.

Worse, some of them, like the Western Governors Association, seem to be hunting grounds for lobbyists.

Someone should look into exactly what goes down at those meetings.

She needs to pay back anything that was for personal gain, like a book tour, a bear hunt, cosmetic procedures, etc.! She lived large on hard working people’s dime! Shame on her!

How many security people were working for Noem and why??? She was the governor of a small insignificant state.

Insignificant? Bite your tongue

We aren’t a California, Texas or New York. Not even an Iowa. Nobody cares about us.

This article would have been greatly enhanced with links to the locations cited in the story. The Venetian Resort in Las Vegas. Safari River Outfitters in Saskatchewan. Thompson Central Park Hotel in New York City. Pretty elite haunts. My regret is the lack of disclosure from our government in Pierre while this was happening. It seems to be an all too frequent failing that damages the credibility of our state government.

I agree, how many stories have we seen in the last few months about government workers stealing money?

This is the little farm girl who was left to figure out how to manage a ranch when her father passed away suddenly, to a woman who felt the government owed her the privilege to spend money like water???? She needs to be made responsible to repay SD for the over spending she did!

The ex-governor's carte blanche attitude to the cash register of South Dakota somewhat parallels what Marvin Kitman wrote in his "George Washington's Expense Account"....

.....AND Zelenskyy's arrogance toward the American taxpayer's and unfettered access to the America's ATM via a cuckolded Congress.

Arrogance and unfettered access to American ATM . Probably learned it from Trump who has been milking the mar a lago trips for his millions. Makes us his personal ATM.

Justin's avatar

Yep, the congress sure does bend over for trump don't they?

I'm curious how her spending of $750,000 over 6 years compares to spending by previous governors. For example, how much did Daugard and Rounds spend for "security" when they traveled?

Perhaps she should use her new federal card to repay us. No one is checking those anymore
