Council champions libraries, pools, public health in Sioux Falls' $775M spending plan
2.9 percent property tax increase adopted to fund city operations in 2026
The Sioux Falls City Council put its imprint on Mayor Paul TenHaken’s 2026 budget this week, restoring some proposed cuts while trimming in other areas to free up dollars for their own priorities.
In all, the council approved about $570,000 in additional spending Tuesday night, steering dollars to libraries, neighborhood grants, community partners and extended pool hours while also shifting funds to public health and housing programs.
