Attorney General probing more misconduct among South Dakota state workers
Revelation made during push for whistleblower protections, mandatory reporting requirements
More public corruption indictments involving South Dakota state employees could be imminent.
The Division of Criminal Investigation is actively probing three cases involving former or current state employees suspected of criminal misconduct. Those are separate from six prior indictments, charges, or convictions against now-former state employees in recent months.
“There are some bad actors that have lost government trust, that have reflected poorly on the good, hardworking employees,” Attorney General Marty Jackley said Monday, confirming that his investigators continue to look into public corruption reports involving both current and former state employees.
