All tenured professors at public universities in South Dakota to undergo performance reviews
Adoption of new review policy follows completion of two-year assessment of state regental system
Earning and keeping tenure as a professor in South Dakota will soon look a lot different at the state’s public universities.
The state Board of Regents is making clear that presidents at the state’s six higher education institutions have final say over tenured faculty performance decisions. The move advances ongoing efforts to reposition the regental system for potential programming shifts and staffing reductions.
